The Suffolk Project does TwoMills proud with stunning photoset

jeremyperkins

A few years back talented photographer Richard Allenby-Pratt who runs The Suffolk Project kindly visited the Riggit Galloway herd of TwoMills and took a fab photoset set in the conservation grazing at The Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket

Richard returned to TwoMills and this time took a fabulous photoset at new conservation grazing at #SuttonMoo just below #SuttonHoo on the banks of the Deben Estuary

Owners Daisy and Joe Greenwell have set their sights on rewilding and encouraging nature conservation on this lovely 45 acre glade between the trees and both the current Belted Galloway herd and in future the Riggit Galloway group will be instrumental in managing the return of flora and fauna.

The Riggit Galloway is an archaic colour strain of native Galloway with less than 250 breeding females in the World. TwoMills Herd are one a handful of breeders dedicated to bringing back these lovely cattle and the Greenwells have been very keen to support this livestock conservation project as part of a wider scope of regeneration.

The photos feature Jeremy Perkins and Freddie Perkins along with current TwoMills #beltedgalloway stock bull Derwentdale Red Campbell. A real wild red colouration and a super stamp on his calves. Campbell has thrown some super heifer calves in his first year as evidenced in these photos

Thank you again to Richard. You can see more of his work on Instagram @thesuffolkproject and www.thesuffolkproject.co.uk

In his own words, Richard says : "The Suffolk Project is a new photographic study of the East Anglian county, with a particular interest in the rural landscape, agriculture and conservation. I'm just getting started but, inspired by the work of Suffolk writers such as Adrian Bell, George Ewart Evans and Ronald Blythe, my ultimate aim is to create an archive of authentic Suffolk imagery and stories, and seek out and record the unique character of the county and its people and industries. Please refer to the journal page for the latest and archived story entries.

This is the new work of photographer Richard Allenby-Pratt. I worked in photography in London, and then the Middle East, before my family and I moved to Suffolk, my wife’s childhood home, in 2016. As well as working in commercial photography, I am an exhibiting photographic artist making works with a particular interest in economics and sustainability, and the human relationship with landscape and wild things. Although the subject matter is different, The Suffolk Project is a continuation of these interests. My previous projects have been exhibited in galleries, museums, awards schemes and art festivals, and have been featured in mainstream media, both online and print, in many countries."

I have also included a fab portrait study of one of Suffolk's trilogy a Suffolk Punch stallion by The Suffolk Project
