End of an era for TwoMills but Roussin sheep found a new flock for first gen farmers A&A livestock

jeremyperkins

With the lambs and older ewes away, the TwoMills Roussin flock is being passed on to first generation farmers Abbie Bryant and Andy Moye who run A&A Livestock nearby in Long Melford

A small foundation flock of a senior ram of good French breeding plus two TwoMills ewes and two ewe lambs will compliment the Wiltshire Horn wool shedding flock being set up by A&A Livestock. The Roussin lamb will be used over Wiltshire Horns for finishing lambs and their new Wiltshire Horn ram over a nucleus flock of Wiltshire Horns as well as the Roussin ewe lambs in time to create a shapely wool shedding first cross

The sheep are based at Assington Mill and the smaller conservation grazing paddocks around the Mill will extend A&A Livestock's farmed area as they take this land on as well as the sheep

I have been very fortunate as a first generation farmer myself with help from others ; including mostly recently with cattle handed on to me and this was a small token passing that forward

I wish Andy and Abbie all the very best
